Is something wrong with my RX560?

jon9044

Recently built a cheap computer to play some games with friends, and my graphics card has been acting up, I ran Kombustor on it and it was getting 11FPS, after updating drivers it shot up to 80FPS, the next day it was back down to 11fps, I updated the drivers again just to see even though it was the same update and it shot right back up to 80fps. Now the same thing again this morning, I'm really in the dark here and any help would be appreciated.

CPU: Intel Pentium Gold G5400

GPU: MSI RX560 4GB

Plugging video cables into your gpu right?

Use DDU to uninstall the drivers and reinstall them

Now the same thing again

Windows likes to automatically default your pc which has been a huge problem for the windows users, but who knows what bill gates and the windows team want besides your info, they obviously did it on purpose at first but who really knows now.

Have you checked the Task Manager and run a virus scan?

Make sure to download the latest driver from AMD (I'm on 18.10.1 on my VEGA 64 and it's fine thus far) And DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and have them available in your computer. Restart in Safe Mode (press and hold Shift key and 'Restart' from the usual 'Start' tab), be sure to disable WiFi or disconnect your ethernet cable before restart (this is to prevent Windows from installing some random old driver which may fubar your installation), Upon restart and entering Safe Mode, install the driver and restart normally....it should work properly this time.

What is your PSU?

Also try downgrading your graphics card driver and see if it returns to better frame rate.

What O.S. are you running? If it's Windows 10 it could be reverting the drivers.

Had a weird experience yesterday, I was mucking around with the skin of the MSI AfterBurner (adjusting theme, transparency) when I'd noticed that I was on Adrenalin 17.9, I went, "WTF?!". It was supposed to be 18.10.1, how could it change driver? Needless to say, I went to Safe Mode, uninstalled 17.9 with DDU , rebooted and installed 18.10.1 again. Now, when I start my rig, I would check driver version to see if this strange behavior recurs....not a hassle since I'd always run MSI AB and I can see the driver version on the main panel.

I used DDU, and restarted my computer then installed the driver after that it was preforming the way it should then the next day same thing. It's like whenever I turn the PC off I have to update uninstall the driver then reinstall it for it to work.

Hi! I'ts already some time, but u managed to solve it?
I'm witht the same problem, with a similar PC.

My setup:

- AsRock H310CM-HG4

- Intel Pentium Gold G5600 3.9 GHz

- AMD RX 560 4GB Biostar

- 8GB Ram 2133 Mhz and SSD 512 GB m.2 nvme running on adapter
I tried everything already, up to the most recent driver and the oldest possible (clean install with DDU) to everything reset, including gpu reset with alchool and BIOS reset AND update (tried all BIOS versions). I really can't find my problem. Every game I try to play, I get constant stuttering and lag spikes. I'm about to sell this shit out or call the Winchesters brothers.

Other informations:

My motherboard have 2 PCI Express, one is x16 3.0 that I'm running the video card, that is x8. And the other is 2.0 x1, that is running the SSD with an adapter. Everything is fine with this setup, whould only be a problem if the video card was x16. My Pentium run at x16 too and I have 2 fans actives on my setup.
