An overclocked CPU and a 1080 Ti. I haven't played Overwatch in a while, but I do remember it being relatively easy to run. I wouldn't bother upgrading though, just turn a few settings down, like no need for MSAA 8x and stuff like that

My Build, v2.1 --- CPU: i7-8700K @ 5.2GHz/1.288v || MoBo: Asus ROG STRIX Z390-E Gaming || RAM: 4x4GB G.SKILL Ripjaws 4 2666 14-14-14-33 || Cooler: Custom Loop || GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC Black, on water || PSU: EVGA G2 850W || Case: Corsair 450D || SSD: 850 Evo 250GB, Intel 660p 2TB || Storage: WD Blue 2TB || G502 & Glorious PCGR Fully Custom 80% Keyboard || MX34VQ, PG278Q, PB278Q

Audio --- Headphones: Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX || Amp: Schiit Audio Magni 3 || DAC: Schiit Audio Modi 3 || Mic: Blue Yeti

[Under Construction]

My Truck --- 2002 F-350 7.3 Powerstroke || 6-speed

My Car --- 2006 Mustang GT || 5-speed || BBK LTs, O/R X, MBRP Cat-back || BBK Lowering Springs, LCAs || 2007 GT500 wheels w/ 245s/285s

The Experiment --- CPU: i5-3570K @ 4.0 GHz || MoBo: Asus P8Z77-V LK || RAM: 16GB Corsair 1600 4x4 || Cooler: CM Hyper 212 Evo || GPUs: Asus GTX 750 Ti, || PSU: Corsair TX750M Gold || Case: Thermaltake Core G21 TG || SSD: 840 Pro 128GB || HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB

R.I.P. Asus X99-A motherboard, April 2016 - October 2018, may you rest in peace. 5820K, if I ever buy you a new board, it'll be a good one.

This video shows the gtx 1080 with an i7-7700k(very similar to 8600k in gaming performance) only getting about 60ish fps at 1080p epic preset. In that case I would think you might need something like an RTX 2080Ti + i9-9900k/i7-8700k/i7-9700k.

EDIT: Nevermind, the guy didn't disable vsync. If he should be getting around 100 fps on that system then you would probably need a 1080Ti and something like an 8700k for 1440p@144fps epic preset

i7/i9 9000 series is not any faster than 8600k in this game.

ya i saw that video too, but I don't think you will need 1 2080ti + i9-9900k to get 144fps,

it definitely helps, the 1080ti + 8700k combo is great and all, but it's also really expensive, i am trying to find the cheapest combination possible

true that, animations can be very disappointing. OP maybe just having high frame rates is enough if you only carre about overwatch, 1440p isnt worth the extra money

ya I feel, 1440 things (monitor + GPU + CPU) are just expensive in general, and like i am not a hardcore gamer so 1080p should be fine.

would ryzen 1600 + gtx 1070 be able to get 144 fps, 1080p max settings for overwatch then ?

Bro the game looks legit the same on epic vs low lol

most important setting is render scale,

if left on auto matic which it defaults to on any preset it will make u run the game at 150/200 percent render so make sure u set U think to 100 manual

i have a 2080 and a 8700k running it on epic at 1440p around 220 fps

but if u drop to low which basically look the same I get locked 300 at 30 percent gpu usage

u don’t need epic settings for this game at all they do nothing

8600k with 1080 should be very close in achieving this if not achieving it

More chance with the 8600k

You need high frequency for 144 hz

I am on pair with those that advice to turn a few settings on.. Some of them actually don't do anything visual for you and with the resolution you run some of them are useless to have on..
