Will a better PSU help lower overclocking voltage requirements?

  • Intel Core i7-8700K
  • Asetek 570LXL CPU liquid cooler (2x 120mm)
  • EVGA SuperNOVA NEX750
  • Gigabyte - Z370XP SLI
  • Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (DDR4-3000)
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080

This is my current overclock matrix:

Do you think that, if I buy a tier 1 Corsair SF600 (v2, Platinum), I'll be able to lower the voltage requirement for the 4.9 GHz overclock?

No decent PSU is going to greatly affect your ability to overclock

If you haven't delidded your 8700K that's probably the most you'll be able to do

more than likely you just have a dud of a chip.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Very unlikely, the voltage to the cpu is controlled by the vrm on your motherboard so unless your power supply does not have sufficient wattage (750W is plenty for any single gpu setup) there will not be any difference.
