Premium HiFi stereo making buzzing sound

Hey guys,

My dad has a premium stereo, but he has a loud buzzing sound going 'trough' the music that he is playing.

I once heard that it could be something with the receiver.

His speakers are:

Bowers & Wilkins B&W Nautilus 803 Diamond

Setup:

Naim NDS

Naim Supercap

Naim power suply

and more Naim stuff, total of 6 Naim 'devices'.

He uses a 200 euro cable box, so I guess that is premium, hope some of you guys can help out!

Thanks in advance and from my dad!

So it only has noise when playing music? What is he playing it from?

No other sources make noise?

He plays radio from wifi, and from a NAS with a ripping tool in it. (It is called ripbutler.)

If it's coming over wifi I think that's probably your problem there. Interference over wifi is unavoidable (though I think it might not matter since it would be digital). You could try changing channels on your network, short of that I don't think there's much to do.

The radio itself is probably noisy.

Or is the NAS not wireless? You still haven't answered though, is it only music and through a specific source that makes noise?

Thanks, but this is not the problem. I did some research and it is with grounding and the amout of volts in de electric loop. But thanks for the help!

  • 2 weeks later...

first thing to do in this situation is to check the connections to see if one is loose or if only a few hairs are making it into the prongs

CA-RIP, Cz up hoes down, bang these hoes out with my rounds.
