Freshly squeezed budget gaming build

ry3ks3u_

I've been getting impatient and decided to compile a list for an extremely budgeted PC under CAD$1000. I talked with my peers that are in the PC building scene as well.

Not to say that they weren't generous with their recommendation, but I was wondering if I was able to get more for my buck.

Here is the list: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/ry3ks3u_/saved/Qjwhqs

Cut out the gpu cooler and get a 1050 as the cpu comes with a decent cooler. The 1050 vs 1030 will make a huge difference.

You can easily get more bang for your buck:

  • Wait for Black Friday
  • Buy used components

My entire build was $350. Canadian. Including desk, speakers, monitor, etc. Just gotta shop smart ;)

In your situation, buy used. $750 can easily get you an RX 570, i3 8400/older i5, etc.

Just get a case, PSU and storage on Black Friday when it goes stupid cheap.

That's true but they included it in their list so I wanted to keep it as part of the list. Not everyone want to buy a key off kinguin.

You don't have to buy it at all...just install and use.

Again to each their own. They had it as part of their list so I kept it.

You can install Windows without paying for it. You just have to ignore the "Activate" icon in the system tray. I think it also restricts you from changing your desktop background.

Though my roommate still changes his so, maybe not anymore.

Please don't do what your original post says.

If you can't stretch the extra 100 dollars or so you could do this but I don't recommend it because you have only 8gb of RAM that is a little slower and a cachless SSD:

This kind of makes sense; I was too focused on cutting corners in places such as the graphics card and the case. Thank you!
