Pretty normal I'd say. There is a program called Fulfillment by Amazon where as the name suggest, you utilise amazon's warehouses and logistics for the delivery portion. Allows you to never see your product and still have it shipped to your customers.

I ordered the following via Newegg and it arrived in an Amazon Prime package. I just want to check, is this normal?

Reduce reuse recycle. Maybe they had a box lying around.

Doesn't sound normal, but perhaps Anker has an agreement with Amazon & Newegg that it will ship out of the Amazon warehouse. Or maybe it was just the only package they had on hand... though that sounds funny.

Might have been easier to dispatch it from there. Looks like you're buying from Anker's store through NewEgg.

You ordered an item that was from one of Newegg's Marketplace vendors. These vendors are not part of Newegg. All Newegg does is list the Marketplace vendor's merchandise on their website, accept the orders for the vendor, and collect payment for the vendor.

 

I this case, Anker is an Amazon Fullfilled Marketplace vendor. Anker sends their merchandise to Amazon. Amazon lists the item on their site, takes the orders and collects payments, picks the orders, packages them, and ships them.

 

I feel the practice of Amazon Fullfilled Marketplace vendors listing their products on other sites, such as Newegg and eBay (eBay is really bad about this) without declaring the order will ship from Amazon in the listing is dispicable and dishonest. Not only do you have to pay the price for tthe merchandise listed on Amazon, but you are also paying for the listing on the other site.

 

What really toasts my buns is, except for eBooks, I'm boycotting Amazon because I've so much trouble with mispicked items, poor packaging, the gross negligence of their delivery "service", and declining customer "service". I do not appreciate ordering an item from a vendor only to discover it will come from *&^%$$#@! Amazon but I also paid a higher price had I ordered it directly from Amazon.

 

Anker makes good products and has had excellent cutomer service in the past but, since it is now employing such a dispicable practice, it will be a cold day in hell (where they can go) before I order anything from them again!

Yeah it's normal if you bought from a third party seller who also sells stuff on Amazon.

Newegg does have a marketplace too doesnt it, so private people can sell on newegg just like on ebay.

 

Fulfilled by Amazon costs money to hold your products in Amazon warehouses.
