GPU usage tanks to 0 percent then game freezes or crashes

Jim1h

Every game i played recently keeps crashing and then I keep getting GPU errors etc... I troubleshooted some of my parts and now I am pretty sure that it is my graphics card that is at fault. I reinstalled my graphics drivers, Updated graphics drivers, and now I am not completely sure what to do next.

Did you overclocked something? Is your ram dual/single channel, you can also try DDU. A picture of the error can help. Clear your GPU from dust. Clear the CMOS.

Yes my GPU was overclocked +50 on core and memory and it only started showing problems recently. I only have 1 stick of ram planning on upgraded to 2 8gb sticks instead of my solo 8gb stick right now.

Bring your GPU back to stock settings.

If stock settings most likely not a graphics hardware issue more likely it is software.

Which brings me to the 3 things:

1.What exactly is the error?

2. Have you updated your graphics driver lately?

-If so try going back to the driver you were using before thing went... strange.

3. What Power Supply are you using?

Run Display Driver Uninstaller if you haven't already. It will nuke any trace of the drivers so you can install new ones fresh without any leave behinds screwing things up. This issue seems software side. Also try uninstalling and re-installing your overclocking software as well.

I did update my drivers recently but it was doing the same thing for the last few versions, I have a EVGA supernova 1000 G3 powersupply and problem still exists I will check what the error is one one of the several applications.

According to the Microsoft website that error is a hardware error usually associated with graphics cards.
