To upgrade or not upgrade

Hello guys first time posting ever, need help deciding whether it is worth upgrading my screen. I've recently got my hands on GTX 1080 Ti ROG-STRIX and an i7 8700k. Now the final step is to upgrade from my ASUS VG248QE to possibly a Dell S2417DG. Sadly due my computer desk being somewhat small I can only fit a 24 inch monitor. My question is should I, I mostly play esport games(LoL, overwatch, etc) however I occasionally play more casual games (bf, witcher). Is it worth the upgrade?

Imo 24" is a little to small for 1440p but why not? It'll be damn sharp, plus the 165hz and g-sync will make for a good experience. If you like the 144hz you have right now, you'll love the new display as well

27" 1440p is the best pixel ratio to size IMO. 24" is pretty small. 25" is better. But 1440p Is my favorite resolution so if you have the money lying around, go for it

Do not use the monitor stand, make your own to suit your needs and yes 24" is too small. 27" is a good size. 4-5" off desk, top side is just under the desk shelf. Back stand I cut, put duct tape on it so it doesnt scratch the Cherry hardwood desk, then hit up the hd's for a matching piece of wood for a 3-5" high little notched out pieces of wood.
