Can an i7-7700k support these?

Hi,

I currently have a PC with a GTX 1070, an i7-7700k, and a 500GB Samsung 960 nVME. I am going to be buying a GTX 1080 Ti soon as an upgrade (I do content creation which can make use of more than one gpu, even if they are different).

So my question is: Does an i7-7700k have enough PCIE lanes to run a 1070, 1080 Ti, and an nVME.

 

P.S. I might go for a 2080 instead, would that work too?

You do know those won't run in SLi right?

I understand that, I tried to explain a bit before.

Very simply put: I do 3D animation, the render engine I use is called "Octane Render" and it is able to make use of multiple GPUs not in sli. I barley do any gaming so I don't need sli anyway.

if you are buying new then a 2080 might be better than a 1080 ti.

Technically all PCIe lanes runs through the chipset... lol but I know what you mean. chipset gives +4

Having multiple GPUs in a system doesn't mean they're running in SLI.

 

If I had a higher end PSU, I could throw in another card in my system and run a display from that, or use it for various computing or rendering. It wouldn't run in SLI, but it would still run and perform normally.

no, the CPU provide PCIe lanes directly to GPU(s) and the chipset. Those from chipset are technically called HSIO (high speed IO) lanes.
