Quadro 3000m or FirePro M7820?

So i have an HP Elitebook 8760w with an i7-2630QM, 16GB of ram and a Quadro 3000m. Works well, but we got a broken Elitebook 8740w into the shop for recycling with a FirePro M7820 in it, GPU is working, so i was thinking of swapping it, it does only have 1GB of ram, but from what this site told me:

https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-Quadro-3000M-vs-ATI-FirePro-M7820/m8172vsm14139

It's faster than the quadro even tho the quadro has 2GB of GDDR5 and is based on the GTX 470M which in theory is a little bit faster than the M7820 which is based on the mobility radeon 5870.

Anyone know which i should keep?

It's unlikely to matter much which one you use, what do you need it for?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

It's my mobile workstation, for well work, movies and games sometimes, that's why i was wondering. I know the firepro can have the 5870 drivers to make it more gaming oriented, but can the same be done with the quadro 3000m? Spec wise it's like a cut back version of the GTX 470m, technically could be a GTX 465m if it existed :P

Both are in MXM3 slots, so they are replacable.

You might as well just test it out if replacing it isn't too big of a deal, just run benchmarks before hand then compare after.

What you really need it sounds like is a cheap R5 2500U machine in your life

Yeah i could bench it, but that takes time, will see if i can do it when i'm off work.

I mean yeah i see why it's a good APU, but that would mean buying the laptop with it in it, i don't need the laptop that much to go buy a new one + Elitebooks are tough things, while the R5 2500U is usually in 15.6'' or smaller ultrabooks which are fragile as hell :S

Sadly no one will ever make machines as good as old laptops, namely the T400 thinkpads, one of those with a Ryzen APU is all I need in my life
