Can you put GTX 1080 or 1080 ti in Acer aspire TC-780

Hello! My friend has a Acer aspire TC-780 pc and he wants to upgrade his gpu from GTX 1050  to GTX 1080 or 1080ti. But i dont know if the motherboard will allow it.

Hes upgrading his PSU also.

300W power supply is holding back. It does have 1 PCIE X16 slot. You can put a GTX 1050TI.

He will upgrade his PSU to at least 700W. But can he run a GTX 1080 with full preformace?

If it can fit in the case and the mobo has at least a PCIe 3.0 x8 slot, yep. Though you'll defo want a new PSU, I recommend the EVGA 550W G3. Have had no problems running my R7 2700X and 1080 off of it, only upgraded to a 1000W one because I'm doing 1080 SLI. 550W will handle basically any single card rig unless you're going Vega, only really need more if you have a power hungry CPU or are going dual card.

As long the motherboard has a PCIE 3.0 x16,700watts PSU, and case compatible.

My roommate has this rig, we slapped a Corsair 600w psu in it with a GTX 960, and after a slight modification to the shroud around the fan, it fit.

PCIe 2.0 is enough for a 1080ti without bottleneck, but the CPUs that mostly go with 2.0 are what'll likely bottleneck him.
