Hacker breaks into App-based vending Machines

Quote

Indisputably, Vending Machines are objects of cult. Delicious morsels of Hackers, always. In the beginning they worked offline with coins only, then, NFC- keys/cards models started spreading. If I say “COGES” I’m sure that better times will come to someone’s mind. But… In a bunch of years things changed radically. You distract and a moment after, find the world superseded by things connected to the internet…

TL;DR - Guy hacked the app for the vending machine to give himself unlimited credit, modify or remove all credit, and reset for the next time.  He did contact the company after he had successfully beaten their system.

I love how he walked through his through processes and considered the white, gray, and black hat options before settling on the morally correct stance (in most people's opinion, anyway).
