Silent Base 801 Finally Came In.

Instead of a full review I would rather just say that the airflow in the 801 at least is much better than what I have heard about the 601. With the side panel off I literally felt the air blowing towards my face about 1.5 feet away. Definitely noticed there being more airflow with the front panel off though.

The case with a PC in it is very heavy towards the side with PSU. No sound from anywhere besides the back fan, which I might have to replace.

The only downside is that I was expecting it to be made completely of metal. Instead it is a hard, thick plastic.

I believe thick plastic would perform better for dampening noise than a thin sheet of metal (which could vibrate) Or perhaps they both would perform the same, but th eplastic is cheaper to produce. Either theory is likely the reason the case is not entirely steel.
