i9 9900k z390 motherboard and what ram to choose

Hey, gonna buy the i9 9900k as soon as it drops and after some research I feel like Asus ROG maximus xi code motherboard should be a nice fit for my use(probably gonna overclock it a fair bit), but what ram would go best with the z390? Anyone have some tips? At least 3000mhz and money isn't a issue.

Also open to suggestions on what motherboard to get for better overclocking capabilities

Cheers

The asus motherboards are really good.

Get some corsair or crucial ram.

We will probably have to see how it utilizes fast memory bands and what's the speed limit where its FSB-gate-to-core-complex-distribution becomes a bottleneck. I don't certainly think just because new architecture (just a revised coffee-like) - super high-speed kits will start to make sense. Now depending on how it does when comes out and guessing that it will probably utilize memory throughput the same way, so still, 4000mhz kits would just be pretty useless and a waste of money even if money isn't a concern.

For the motherboard tho, go for the most expensive one out there with massive Vcore phase counts and good heatsinks. I've seen motherboards put 8 + 8 pin power input where it's pretty useless unless you're doing LN2 but still you could get away with 8 + 4.

console.log("way to pro");

Yeah I was looking at the msi godlike and ROG MAXIMUS xi extreme, but dunno if it's worth it?.

Yeah I think 4k MHz ram would be somewhat useless I'm thinking of getting some 3.2 or 3.6k,anyone got some specific models to recommend?

That's CL 19 tho

4266/19 is better than 3600/17

prob can OC to cl18

the 3600mhz tridentZ is also good. So are Dominator Plats.

Yeah they are sexy af, have 4x4 2400mhz in dominator plats in my current Rigg, special as the torque ones? Aren't those like ridiculously expensive?

No, the contrast ones. He's running a X99 black and white build.

I really like the torque ones.
