Unless something has happened in the past couple of weeks with drivers to bring  2080's performance up, then I see no reason to buy it over a 1080ti. The price difference I am currently looking at is well over a 100$.

The only way is to reveal the ugly. To change the truth you must first acknowledge it. Never pretend it isn't there. Never bend the knee.

The GTX1080Ti and RTX2080 trade wins and draws against each other at 1080P and 1440P, with the latter winning more than losing. But at 4K, the RTX 2080 wins most of the time....this is what I've gathered looking at guru3d's benchmarks.

Rig 1: AMD AM4 R9 3900X (12C/24T) + Tt Water 3.0 ARGB 360 AIO | Gigabyte X570 Aorus Xtreme | 16GB Patriot Viper RGB 3600CL17 | Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6900 XT | 256GB Sabrent Rocket NVMe PCIe M.2 (OS) | 4TB Samsung 860 EVO SSD + 2TB 860 QVO SSD + 2x 1TB 850 EVO + 6TB WD Black HDD | CoolerMaster H500M | Corsair HX1000 Platinum | Ducky Shine 4 69 Fire + Logitech G703 | iFi Micro iDSD Black Label | LG SL8YG | C49HG90DME 49" 32:9 144Hz Freesync 2 | Omnidesk Pro 2020 48" | 64bit Win10 Pro

1080 ti is going to have a little better performance then the 2080; about 1=5 frames better. The 1080 ti is most of the time cheaper, so I would go with the 1080 ti but if the 2080 is any cheaper then the 1080 ti I would go with that.
