Wipe HDD (DBAN not working)

Trying to wipe my 1TB WD Blue for resale using DBAN and I keep getting an error message (cat: can't open '/proc/cmdline': No such file or directory) when I start the process. Tried multiple things and can't seem to get it to work.

Is there another way I can get my HDD wiped?

Thanks.

Delete the partitions in windows disk management and also format the drive?

Use something like ccleaner to overwrite it with 0s if you want to reduce chance of data recovery.

just make sure you delete any partitions in windows disk management and then make a new simple volume, so that there's only one partition on the drive when you sell it.
