Need help deciding on new cpu with 1366 chipset

Go to solution Solved by Razor Blade,

Here is a list it says are supported...

https://www.gigabyte.com/Ajax/SupportFunction/GetCpuList/?Value=2959&Type=Product

Looks like there are people that have luck using the Xeon 5600 series CPUs as well...

https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/xeon-x5650-on-gigabyte-ga-x58-ds4-strange-problem.2426024/

Hi, I am currently running a Intel core i7 920 (1st gen) and I need an upgrade to a cpu using the 1366 chipset in the i7 series due to my motherboard only supporting i7's, if anyone could send a link in the comments for a reasonable price for one that would be helpful. Thanks!

What motherboard do you have? A lot of consumer boards will support Xeon with newer BIOS revisions.

There's no place like ~

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Yeah but OP used the term "chipset" to describe the socket

 I'm just being nitpicky
