ASUS GL502VY Nvidia GTX 980m i7-6700HQ Power Cutting/FPS Issue

Model: ASUS GL502VY

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 980m 4GB

Ram: 16gb DDR4

Storage: 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD

The video shows fps cuts while running a gpu stress test. The first instance of the FPS issue shown is how this laptop behaves with the laptop plugged in. The second instance is it's behavior when disconnected from the charger while playing games. The behavior seems somewhat similar

Issue: This laptop is having issues with gaming performance. When playing any game, it will play at 50-60fps at high settings for about 3-5 minutes. After that, it will cut to about 15-20fps for about 20 seconds. Then it cuts from 60fps to 20fps about every 60 seconds for an entire gaming session. I have undervolted the CPU previously by about .150v, which made it run at about 80c, but still had the issue. No matter what I have tried, this issue persists. Any ideas?
