I found them because of the Wheel of Time. I was reading it at the time, googled something, and found the song.

Now that a big leap as books don't normally lead to power metal bands

Yup, their song "Wheel of Time" is about the plot of the book series (soon to be TV series).

"It's calling me, Saidin" saidin is the male half of the magic of that world that drives men fucking insane.

"O father of lies" is the main big bad guy, generic source of evil in the world.

"I'm the Dragon Reborn" the Dragon Reborn is the main character of the books.

So it's a power metal song from the perspective of the main character of the series.

Good series. Kinda sexist, but good if you can get past that. The author tried to be empowering towards women, but it ended up being a lot like the guy who tries to convince you that he isn't racist by saying "I have a lot of black friends."

I'm not so sure the TV show will go well. It's high-fantasy... As in crazy fucking magic. Some absolutely insane bullshittery. There's also 14 books / 11k-12k pages. I don't think it could ever be covered properly, with magic having a proper representation.

The magic also couldn't be scaled down to be less crazy. The main point to the main character is that he is capable of the most insane buttfuckery in the world.

Great books though, I would recommend them. The writer has some quirks, but the world building is second-to-none.

I don't believe it gets quite to world-buster level. I stopped at book 8 because I ran out of free time.

It's also a ton of insanely flashy stuff.

Check out these bands when you have some free time: Kreator, Sodom, Destruction, Tankard, Breaking Benjamin, Nonpoint, P.O.D., Cold, Death Angel, Drowning Pool, Dope (Yes, that is a band..), Evile, Hellyeah, Pantera, Korn, Mudvayne, Powerman 5000, Prong, Saliva, Seether, Sepultura (1984-1996 Era), Smile Empty Soul, Trivium, & Wednesday 13

I know that is a lot to list off, but i am listening to all of those bands and i wanted to pass on the music.
