How much does LMG make from sponsors?

Car712

So I have been wondering, with all the sponsored videos lately, how much money does LMG actually get paid from the sponsors? Im guessing quite a bit, as they get an entire video dedicated to their product basically, with a huge tech audience. How much do you think?

with as many employees as they have and the price of the content the produce, a whole fucking lot I guess.

But keep in mind with as much that it costs to keep them afloat, I dont get the impression that they are over extended or would be at any risk of taking shady money whatever.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

We have about 25 people on staff between LMG and Floatplane Media.

They all make more than minimum wage.

We are profitable (not over-extended) on top of that.

You can probably run some rough numbers based on that if you cared :)

I would guess a couple thousand per video but I have no better idea than you do.  No one is going to tell you the real figure though - they already have a series on "honest answers" that explains about as much as you could hope for, and while it does go into a lot of detail, they're obviously not going to give exact figures.  Why does it matter anyway?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Lets say $20/hour just to be conservative, so

20 $/h  x  25 people  x  8 h/d  x  5 d/w  x  50 w/y (gotta take vacation) = $1M a year in salary

But really there isn't any more math to be done here.  We have no idea what their other expenses are like rent, equipment upgrades, taxes, etc. and no idea what their other income sources amount to.  Really, Linus's post was a nice gesture but it's not going to do anything for helping anyone get even remotely close to an answer to this question.

Oh it could be figured out. Some people have done what appears to be pretty significant legwork and a couple have gotten very close to real numbers over the years ?

Just link the most accurate one you've found so far then, that should answer the question xD

Barring that, trying to work out the sponsor payments "from scratch" would honestly be easier than the alternative imo (that is, figuring out every expense, every income source (except the sponsors), your net profit, and then subtracting to get the sponsor figure).

a few millions per year, less than 4, more than 2? Anyways, numbers are not important, it's having a lot of sex that matters.

Now I feel really like living in Premium country. Even hourly's get money for vacation days. But for LMG they would be hired permanently with monthly wage which includes 4-6 weeks of vacation yearly. Paid ofc (half of monthly wage during vacation time). And option to exchange 3 weeks of vacation to money. More if company is willing to gain some extra profits over longer periods.

I would guess between 5k to 15k per video, as they usually get 2 sponsors per video.

But it's still none of your business.
