1 PC 2 Gamer

jerahya

I wanted to try building a 2 gamer 1 rig. low spec one since I'll be using my old rig for it. Anything that can run game like dota 2 in lowest preset with decent fps or at least playable experience. both have at least 2 cores and use a dedicated GPU for each instance. Thing about my old rig is its running with and i5 2500k which doesn't support VT-d so and unraid requires VT-d for it to allow each instance of VM to use its dedicated graphic card.
Are there other options that will allow me to set a dedicated number of cores, ram, keyboard, mouse and GPU for each instance? Rather than running a single OS that splits the control for both monitor screen and share resources and if the other user is hogging most of the resource other one just cripples.

You'll need that VT-d support, so you can't use the 2500K for this project. An i7-2600 non K should do the job. You'll basically have 2 VMs with 2c/4t which should be okay for entry level games.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

Get yourself an X-Box.  It's made to support multiple players.

Not a console player. I don't play console with my friends. And you can't play that much e-sports title with xbox like dota 2,

the locked i5 2500 does support VT-d. sucks that the unlocked one doesn't. I'm still digging into better or at least decent alternative before getting the processor and unraid,
