So recently I had a bad experience with my M.2 boot drive (samsung 960 evo) - Link below - I have only had it for about 8 months now. However I have concluded that it is fried and all data is lost and is not discoverable, even in Bios. my questions is what to do with it now? There's gotta be something I can do with it to get back some kind of compensation for having to buy a new drive.

I cant, like I've said, I bought this back in January through newegg and it has been way past their RMA period.

Oh, that's a rip off, especially for an expensive SSD.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!

Learn from the expericene and get a Crucial next time, you could try recovery programs but if the memory chips are fried there's nothing you can do

ASUS X470-PRO • R7 1700 4GHz • Corsair H110i GT P/P • 2x MSI RX 480 8G • Corsair DP 2x8 @3466 • EVGA 750 G2 • Corsair 730T • Crucial MX500 250GB • WD 4TB

Back in January means that a year hasn't passed yet, and ssd warranties are usually more than a year any way. Unless you bought it second hand, I believe you can still send it to be fixed or replaced through warranty, data would probably stay lost, but I'm no expert.

Yeah I hoping I can get newegg to do something if it is still under manufacturer's warranty since I bought it brand new. But currently I'm trying to survive a hurricane.

I dont care about the data at this point, I already went out and bought a new card, unfortunately they only had the newer 970 version so I can't cheat the system and return the broken card to them.

Newegg isn't the manufacturer. You would have to contact Samsung in regards to a manufacturer's warranty.

I'm not sure how it's done on usa, but in israel you make a warranty claim through the retailer you bought the item from, and I see no reason why your warranty could have possibly run out for a drive less than I year old that was bought brand new from new egg, contact them, explain the case, and if warranty claims need to go through the manufacturer, ask them what the number(phone) for that is.

That doesn't make much sense. It has a 3 year warranty with Samsung.
