How can I jam my cell from receiving any signals

I need to buy a new phone, so I told my dad that my phone can't receive any signal, so coz of that I can't call someone nor text em. So before he come back home (which is in 3 days, give or take) I need to block my cell from receiving any kind of signal

So can anyone help me please?

 

P.S my phone is Samsung A5 2017

Yes, but you can't text/receive texts or call someone. If that's not enough, put the phone in airplane mode. If that's still not enough, buy an iPod Touch and call it a phone.
