Lower end graphics card always spinning?

Moving from 1080 Ti  SLI to GT 1030, i noticed that it's fan is always spinning.

Is that normal?


Gigabyte GT 1030 OC 2GB GDDR5.

Yes. Most lower end cards don't have turn off features unless it stated.

Yes, this is normal. It's mostly just the higher end cards with much larger heatsinks that can run with a zero RPM mode when the card is idling. If it's an issue see if you can adjust the fan curve in MSI Afterburner.

 

You can also get passively cooled GT 1030s that don't have a fan at all, which are good for HTPC and such.
