My question is, is it worth the extra money to buy a 1070 ti instead of a 1070 ?

Depends on the price difference you are looking at, resolution, games and current system. Its like asking should I buy a TTRS over a TTS without knowing anything else :)

the price difference is 50 euros  i am playing on 1440p 144hz monitor and i have an i5 4590

I'd be tempted by the ti but at the same time the 2000 series hits in 11 days so further reductions could be expected

How much is the GTX1070/1070Ti in pure dollar term? I had just gotten a 7 month old Leadtek GTX1080 Hurricane for about 327USD (converted from local $$) which is among the lowest price I can find for a used GTX1080.......locally that is (not eBay). Peeps are dumping their GTX1080Ti/1080/1070Ti in anticipation of the imminent release of the RTX series.
