My us wireless card keeps connecting and disconnecting.

My usb wifi adapter has two usb plugs that plug in to my computer and I use windows 10. When I plug it in it just keeps reseting, I mean every second or two. I go into device manager and it just flashes every second or two. I installed the driver correctly. I also tried it on a windows 10 laptop and same thing. but then I tried it on a windows 7 desktop. And it worked I have tried a another cable and it works just fine on all the computers but I need the dual plug because its longer. Why is my cable not working with windows 10. It has one plug for data and one for power but that should be it because it works on windows 7. And one last final note, it resets even with the driver not installed.

What is the model of the adapter?

And what do you mean "dual plug because its longer"? Is there an extender on it? or...

its an alfa udb long range adapter. the cable that came with it has a single plug that plugs into the device and two plugs on the other end. One is used for data and the other is a supplement power plug.

i installed it with the compatibility enabled, hell I let windows auto install and no luck. Only when I use a cable with a single plug it works, with or with out the drivers. And before you type replace the cable IT WORKS on a windows 7 machine no problem dual connector and single connector. I have tested this on 2 desktops and 2 laptops. 1 windows 7 desk top and laptop and one windows 10 desktop and laptop. and the dual plug cable refused to work on ether windows 10 computer but the single plug worked fine. on the windows 7 ones everything works fine. its only the dual plug cable and windows 10 i'm having an issue with.

Trying to use too long a cable for USB 3?

Trying to use USB 3 device in USB 2 port?

I believe both these can cause issues like you describe.

If you're interested in a product please download and read the manual first.

This cable works just fine on windows 7. Why is Windows 10 not working with this cable?

You say it works fine on 7 but not on 10. is this on the same pc or 2 different pc's ? because the hardware difference may have more to do with it than the operating system. also specifics would help, what is the make/model?, is it usb 2 or 3?, how longs the cable you are trying to use? desktop or laptop? front or back usb socket?

25ft is alot longer than the usb 2.0 standards max of 16ft. the longer cable will cause a voltage drop and signal degradation. my thinking is windows 7 is being more forgiving with the signal it receives, allowing more dropped packets before it starts disconnecting the device. or allowing the device to pull more power before cutting it off. I would try connecting a phone charger to the supplemental power connector, this should give it more power without the device demanding too much than windows 10 will allow.

its not 1 cable for power and 1 for data, the data cable also supplies power splitting the load with the windows 10 device. now riddle me this, if you keep acting like an arrogant obnoxious know it all kid, how much more help do you think people are going to be willing to give.
