Should I go through with this mobo deal?

So I found a used ROG Maximus X Hero for 195$. The guys story is he built a rig for someone who decided they couldn't afford it so he is parting it out. I asked him if he could throw it on a test bench to see if it could post and he said he is willing but has no compatible processor and neither do I. People who buy second hand, is this a good idea? It's SUCH a good deal it hurts.

It's $40 off of new. It's not that good of a deal.

Are you buying it online? If so, just pay with Paypal and if it doesn't work file a claim.

If he bought it, he should have a receipt. Ask for that in case it needs to be RMA'd.
