Best 1440p IPS G-SYNC now?

Go to solution Solved by Spotty,

I just picked up the XB271HU IPS in Aus this week.
You can get it from eBay sellers with a 20% discount code that comes down to AUD$800 including delivery. The 20% coupon is still valid for another week.

Look at what eBay stores stock those monitors that also accept the 20% coupon code. With the coupon it works out to be ~$750 for the Viewsonic, ~$800 for the Acer, and ~$850 for the Asus.

The monitors you are looking at all use the exact same panel. Choose whichever one has the nicest frame and stand that you like and the best price.

Get the ViewSonic, it uses the same panel as the ASUS or Acer but you will save some money.

The differencess are in the "package" like the stand, bezzels, etc... also the OSD menu will be different with maybe some missing or some added features.

Monitors fine.

Only issue I have had is with the cable included being a bit short for my personal use (1.5m long power and DisplayPort cable included), but with my set up my PC and power board is a little bit further away from the monitor than I think most people will have, and I have no idea what length cables the other monitors come with, so I can't judge Acer for that.

The eBay store I purchased mine from was a store that I've purchased PC parts from a number of times in the past without any issues. Everything I've ordered from them has been as described and worked fine without issues - so I haven't had to try and get a refund from them before, so I'm not sure how they are for refunds.
The 20% coupon is only available to select stores, so they're usually legit stores with thousands of sales history.

You can view a full list of the stores that accept the 20% off coupon here https://pages2.ebay.com.au/Buyer_coupons/pixel
But if you just search for the monitor ebay typically shows that you can get 20% off on that item.

From what I've noticed those 20% coupons run every few weeks, so if you're not ready to buy just yet then don't worry, there will likely be another 20% off coupon in a month or so anyway.

By the way, what graphics card and CPU do you have? You need a decent graphics card to run 1440p 144hz with high graphics settings.

Yeah should be pretty good. You can check a few benchmarks for your card in games at 1440p to see what sort of FPS you will get, but you should be able to do over 60fps with very high settings on graphically intensive games. To reach 144fps you will probably need to drop a few settings down to medium, depending on the individual game.
Even my GTX 1080ti struggles to maintain 1440p 144hz in AAA games at Very High. GTA V Very High hovers between 80-120FPS, depending on what is happening on screen, but with Gsync enabled it's silky smooth and you hardly notice. PUBG is about 120FPS as well at very high.

Check benchmarks for your favourite games to see how they perform with the GTX1080 at 1440p resolutions to get an idea of what to expect.

Thanks for the info, planning on buying one of them (plus AOC AG271QG) soon.

Some info I gathered from reddit/customer review, not sure if they're true:

General: quality lottery

Asus: higher chance of backlight bleeding

Acer: yellower color

Viewsonic: ...distracting green strip on bezel?

Aoc: (not enough information)

Edit: nvm.. found an review site.
