Ever since the gtx460 I've found my self selling sooner to fund the next one.

Sell the 460 and get the 560ti

560ti - to 660 (didn't keep that one long)

660-760

760- 970

970 - 1070  (that hurt as it cost me 100 more than the other replacements)

(always MSI for some reason)

So I got a 1070 for £350 (£200 in actual outlay) about 18mnths ago

The rtx 2070...

The 2nd hand value of a 1070 and the new cost of a 2070(AIB not founder)

I can see that as 300+ actual outlay.

I've had such a good run of what I think has been very cost effective performance enjoyment. I think its over.

Nvidia is a fkn nightmare

I feel like it would've been better to get the high end GPU of that time (ie 580, 980, etc) instead of getting a couple of mid range GPU's and upgrading every generation.

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

twice the price but not twice the performance.

I get what I pay for and upgrade before I'm unhappy with my experience.

how well was a 580 performing when the 980 came out? (only 2gb of vram)

2nd hand value of 580 at that time?

I find the mid range WAS giving me iterative benefits from new architecture that comes with new chips

That's technology for ya. Outdated by the time you've saved enough for what you want. 1070 will be man enough for years to come I feel anyway.

unless they put 16gb of ram in the PS5/Xbox ii

Just been in a butter zone of consumerism where I felt i was getting a good deal and now its over.
