Whats the deal with tunnelbear?

HeartyTinman

So I got TunnelBear VPN last year off the back of the LTT sponsor spots, but soon after, the fiasco with LTT dropping them happened and I cba to change provider and basically didnt use it much. I'm now up for renewal of contract, and wondering if I should stick with TunnelBear or go with someone else like PIA?

If i should avoid TunnelBear, why?

Any advice gratefully recieved

I believe TunnelBear was acquired by MacAffee and LTT was concerned about security. Get NordVPN, I hear it's better

the issue is the McAfee is incorporated in the US and the US gov will force them to spy, so it isn't really secure and McAfee is just shit in general.

When it comes to VPN's its best to choose one that is not bassed in a Country that is part of the 5,9,or 14 eyes alliance, thus it will be free from government and law interventions.

This means anything bassed in America is techincaly a no go, same goes for the UK.

FYI NordVPN is Panama bassed, which is not a member of the above alliances.

ExpressVPN is another good one bassed in the British Virgin Islands outside the above alliances juristiction.

IMO i wouldnt go with PIA, they are US bassed.

Tunnel Bear is Canada bassed , they a 5 Eyes alliance member so again i wouldnt go with them.

This. Get a VPN that doesn't have a jurisdiction in fourteen eyes countries, like NordVPN (Panama), BolehVPN (Seychelles), Express or Surfshark (both British Virgin Islands). Zero log policy is important too. While you may not do anything shady, protect your privacy. If you are paying for a product always be sure to get the best bang for your buck.
