So my mum bought a Moto E4+ last year and up to a month ago it has worked really well (and I would still give it a strong recommendation as a budget phone) but lately it seems to have random WiFi/Cell issues.

So, for example, if I am trying to connect it to my WiFi it may take an extraordinarily long time to connect and most likely will give the error that my WiFi has no Internet (which is not the issue, it's a computer running PFSense and I've checked the settings, including MAC filtration, as well as tested it on a spare 2.4GHz commercial router with the same issue and I have also tried every other device in my household with no other device reproducing the issue)

It will randomly experience data dropouts, but not a loss / deterioration of cell signal, and calling is still absolutely fine. I'm on the same network as my mum, and my (iPhone 7) is fine.

Sometimes this can be fixed with a reboot, other times it will take a while and go away.

As to what I have done, well I've factory reset the thing twice which (clearly) did nothing. I've tried clearing the cache (from all apps and from the bootloader) whenever the problem comes up, to no avail. To me the only thing left is to unlock the bootloader, clear everything and reflash stock firmware. With past experience from Motorola devices, I am hesitant to unlock the bootloader and reflash the OS as I have had many problems relocking them after.

Any ideas?
