Ryzen 1200 or i3 8100

Go to solution Solved by Rainbow Dash,

The AMD Ryzen 3 2200G would be a great choice for the price, since it's a newer CPU than the Ryzen 3 1200. The i3-8100 is more expensive, but you don't get overclocking, it's slightly faster than the Ryzen 3 1200, the 300-series board will support the next gen, which is the 9th gen Intel CPUs. The Ryzen 3 1200 is slightly slower, cheaper, overclockable on the B350 budget motherboards, can be used on the 400-series boards, and the motherboard will support future AM4 CPUs.

So i'm planning to build my very first gaming rig and i'm still struggling what platform to choose.

So this is what i really want from my gaming pc:

I want upgradeability so i don't have to buy a new Mobo when upgrading my CPU.

And this is what im going to do primarily:

Lots of gaming and editing.

and this is what i got for other parts
