Posted September 2, 2018 As the price of GPUs are fluctuating, the cheapest PNY I was planning to buy became costlier than both Zotac and MSI. And MSI price dropped to the price of Zotac. Now MSI and Zotac are at the exact same price, which one should I buy? I've ordered the following today Ryzen 5 2600 MSI B450 GAMING PLUS ATX CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB, will expand later to 16 I am very much budget restricted. My budget for GPU is around $350. Converted to current exchange rates. I'm from India. Posted September 2, 2018 I've heard Zotac's cards can suffer cooling problems with VRMs as well as the GPU core. MSI has some lower end coolers, but most of their coolers are pretty good. If I recall correctly, the Armor heatsink is the one that you want to stay more away from. Posted September 3, 2018 Get MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 6Gb. Why MSI Gaming X??? Because its cooler design is superb, it allows you to OC the 1060 to 2100 MHz stable, like I did on mine, I run a game at 1080p fully ultra graphical setting that make the GPU on 98% load but only 56oC max temp, the OC is a huge amount of additional performance, it gives me additional +20 frame per second. But I dont know, maybe it's just my good luck on silicon lottery. I'm giving no BS, i can provide screenshots of it if you want to see proves. NOTE: I'm not receiving any fee whatsoever from MSI for advertising on their products, it's pure personal user experience. Have extended warranty (5 yrs I guess) Pros for MSI 1. Better build quality Zotac may has higher base/boost clock but its cooler can barely hold it. I read a review that compare 4 different 1060 6Gb from 4 different aftermarket brands, MSI and Zotac are included, and the guy OC them to the highest clock as possible, MSI Gaming X shows the most stable clock because the performance of its cooler is superb among the others. And I have my own experience myself. I did 2.1GHz OC on MSI Gaming X and it runs great till this moment.
