Monitor Speakers Enable after startup when disabled?

For the last week, everytime I turn on my computer, my monitor speaker seems to automatically get enabled and I have to manually turn it off. I checked my fathers other account, and it was turned off as well. It happens If I restart my computer as well. I never use to happen. Why is this?

Can you tell me how you go about disabling your monitor speakers?

I go to Windows - Sound - Playback - Right click my enabled monitor audio - Disable >> Or Double Click - Device Usage - Don't use this device (disable)

how is the audio from your pc connected to your monitor?

I think you misunderstand. The audio from my monitor is automatically turning on everytime I boot up my PC. Therefore I have to disable it every time so I can hear through my headphones not my monitor.

My monitor has audio but it is horrible so I don't use it.

Is windows setting your display as the default sound device when this happens? Do you have other speaker/headsets attached?

Yes, window is setting my display as the defaul sound device. Here is a photo of my sound system http://prntscr.com/kpqwke  http://prntscr.com/kpqwmp

It is the second 2460G5 option that is the one that is automatically enabled everytime I boot my computer. The speakers with the green bar is my Headphones which I am using, the other two speakers are for my microphone, not sure why they're in my playback

Judging by the repeated entries of 2460G5, it appears Windows is thinking a new display is attached every time it reboots

Instead of disabling in sound setting, try this;

  1. Open up Nvidia Control Panel
  2. In the left pane, select "Set up digital audio"
  3. Set all ports with a detected display to "Turn off audio"
  4. Reboot to confirm it is applied

Ok will try this! I'll tell you if it has worked!
