To a 1440p Ultrawide yes, non ultrawide maybe. especially if you prefer good looking Graphics over frames

Sorry for the few off Capital letters in my posts, it does it on its own when I Write in English, since my OS is in another Language. It's annoying.

Yes and no. On one hand, video games look nicer but have lower framerates, on the other hand most online video content is still only 1080p and doesn't look as good on a 1440p display compared to a native display.

If you go for 1440 high refresh rate or 1440 ultrawide (or both), certainly.

Depends on the panel as well. Are you going from a low quality TN to a high quality IPS?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

For gaming? Somewhat. I mean it will more taxing, so depending on the game you may need to reduce visuals to get good (for you) steady fps. You may need to reduce visuals to keep the frame rate.

For working? Yes. larger working area. or if the display is of small size, you can increase the Display Scaling instead to enjoy smoother and easier to read text, and ensure richer more details images/icons, if you work with text extensively.

I honestly don't feel that it's worth it. Games that don't natively support 1440p will look horrible on it (quite a few major titles still don't support 4k) and gaming on 4k can reduce your performance quite drastically if you don't have the right hardware.

There are 10 types of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.

Current Rig (Dominator II): 8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3133 C15, AMD Ryzen 3 1200 at 4GHz, Coolermaster MasterLiquid Lite 120, ASRock B450M Pro4, AMD R9 280X, 120GB TCSunBow SSD, 3TB Seagate ST3000DM001-9YN166 HSD, Corsair CX750M Grey Label, Windows 10 Pro, 2x CoolerMaster MasterFan Pro 120, Thermaltake Versa H18 Tempered Glass.

Previous Rig (Black Magic): 8GB DDR3 1600, AMD FX6300 OC'd to 4.5GHz, Zalman CNPS5X Performa, Asus M5A78L-M PLUS /USB3, GTX 950 SC (former, it blew my PCIe lane so now on mobo graphics which is Radeon HD 3000 Series), 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 7200RPM HDD, 3TB Seagate ST3000DM001-9YN166 HDD (secondary), Corsair CX750M, Windows 8.1 Pro, 2x 120mm Red LED fans, Deepcool SMARTER case

My secondary rig (The Oldie): 4GB DDR2 800, Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3GHz, Stock Dell Cooler, Foxconn 0RY007, AMD Radeon HD 5450, 250GB Samsung Spinpoint 7200RPM HDD, Antec HCG 400M 400W Semi Modular PSU, Windows 8.1 Pro, 80mm Cooler Master fan, Dell Inspiron 530 Case modded for better cable management. 100% this. I took one of my matching 23.8" ASUS ProArt 1080p displays to work because I managed to snag a 27" 2560x1440p ASUS 60Hz display off eBay.ca for around $210 CAD 2 years ago. For gaming I could take or leave the extra resolution - in fact, just having a 1080p 27" display would be fine.

But for working? Holy balls, I'd NEVER go back to a 1080p display. Ever. Period. My job gave me an opportunity to use a 23" 1900x1200 Apple Cinema HD Display a few years back, but the power adapter died for it, and of course it's proprietary AF so I really should mail the monitor to Apple's HQ one of these days. Anywho, having 27" of 1440p goodness gives you enough room to open 2 sites / documents side-by-side, leaving me enough room to work on one screen while having comms apps up on my remaining 23.8" ASUS ProArt display.

As was said before me. For gaming, not that big of a deal unless you also go for an Ultrawide.

BUT it can be a huge deal for gaming if you want a big screen so that you can sit/lean further away and play on controller or watch a movie from bed/soffa while you dont want to sacrifice the pixel density while using the screens from up-close.

For working or general desktop use, it is a MASSIVE difference vs 1080p.

Each of these is 1440p

Kinda, I don't game better what so ever. The fps loss isn't worth it to me. Only I game I tend to like it on which is BF1, I can do just as well with 1080p but with their random recoil crap they generated, I actually have to try and aim to place top.

I love it for productivity when Im limited on monitors. Guess if depends on the game.
