Would you return a monitor with one dead pixel?

Received a lovely Dell U2725H today, I think the monitor is awesome but this one has one dead pixel in near midline around 1/4 way up screen. Company I bought it from have said that I can return it, I have also offered to keep it for a partial refund and am waiting to hear back from their manager. Question is, is a dead pixel indicative of a problem with the screen? Doesnt bother me too much and I could live with it if I saved a bit of money from it. Would you do the same? Do most monitors suffer with the odd dead pixel?

Most companies won't replace the monitor if it has a single dead pixel. It's typically not an indication of a larger problem, unless they're forming in groups.

Dead pixels are fairly common. If they're offering a replacement, I'd take it to be honest. Most companies wouldn't offer that.

i could never use one with a dead pixel, would get me triggered 24/7 xD

if you can get a replacement you should but if it doesn't bother you i guess you should keep it for a partial refund, wouldn't keep it for full price tho

Read the warranty.

You likely can't return it for only one dead pixel.

A dead pixel that doesn't turn rapidly into more dead pixels isn't a sign of a problem with the screen. It's a minuscule manufacturing defect, i.e., the defect rate is 0.0000271%

It likely wouldn't bother me that much in the end to get a replacement. If it doesn't bother you that much, then it's probably not worth paying even more money to get a replacement.

Depends on how much i payed and where the dead pixel is.

if i payed £400+ , yes no matter where it was

If it was <£400 and was in the centre of the screen , yes

If it was <£400 and at the edge of the screen, probably not.

That being said, im a stickler for quality, especialy in the VDU space. Its why i still use a Plasma, as LCD's simply cant compete with the overall quality of the image, even if they can display a higher resolution.

My local pc store actually always asks you to buy dead pixel insurance. It costs about 15 bucks. Which makes me feel like if the pixel is dead it doesn't fall under the warrenty. Now that I think about this, i'm not actually sure how this works exactly. I think that if it happens after 1 year you can still return it. But if you dont have this insurance, you can only return it within the legal return period. Because I think legally if you dont choose for this insurance and the pixel seems dead when you get home, I think they should just take the return with or without this insurance, as I think thats the law.

I bought mine from CCL computers (via amazon) and they didn't seem to have an issue with it being returned. Is the above mentioned "webstore" Amazon?

No, it's a webstore in the Netherlands, not Amazon. However, there is one small monitor that I'd like to buy it but it's from Amazon.

I'm only afraid if it's a faulty one or a lot of backlight bleed, that I can return it or not.
