Anyone have experience putting a hidden u.FL/IPX/IPEX Wifi antenna in their PC?

S2000Gan

I have seen some Asus and dell models coming with wifi cards (PCI-e or laptop style connectors on motherboard) that support that style of antenna.

No idea if you can get it for a PC though...

TBH it can be the same type of tech as the usb wifi devices. Really long trace/antenna on a spiral, so takes up 3x3 mm. xD Could you use an internal or front panel usb socket?

For clarity im talking about antennas like these
See the source image
some motherboards have msata/m.2 wifi cards with u.FL/IPX/IPEX connectors then just use u.FL/IPX/IPEX to SMA pigtails for those screw in external antennas

Yep. I was just unsure what difference in performance you are going to get.

Running those around should be fine, just avoid metal cages that may block/lower signal.

No idea where to get m2 wifi cards though. :(
