Im just wondering if pc is safe to use if some of the pins are touching lol. Its a shame I cheaped out on the board so now no leftover pci slots to plug my graphics card in ?

Overall I found this accident quite halarious since I never saw shit like that and wanted to share. Im new to this forum and as you can see very clumsy

No it's not safe, you might kill the motherboard or also some of your other components.

Get a new board.

Rip in PCIEces.

You should definitely not have the pins from the leftover of the PCIE touching, as they could bridge and short or whatever...

Although I really can't recommend you run your board in this condition and unless you're very very adapt at soldering; I would not recommend you try to DIY repair it.

Sometimes it's better to just get a new boards.

If you can live without the Slot you can remove all the pins sticking out (just bending them back and forth until they fall off); this prevents shorts and the board should keep on working, I've done that twice without issue myself. Only way to actually fix it would be soldering on a new slot which is gonna be quite difficult.

So that's what a PCIe slot looks underneath... I'm so sorry I laughed at the title and image, however it is interesting to see what it is like underneath the slot shroud.

What were you even trying to do that could have made that happen? I'm perplexed beyond belief.

Dont worry man, that was my reaction too. I dont game now, so just getting rid of pins will be sufficient replacement untill I get myself a new board.

I tried to remove GPU, maybe pulled a little too much, part of pci-e went off. At that point Im sweating and trying to either put thing back or remove it without bending pins (and I had bad experiances with pins before so at this point Im pretry much panicing) . I saw that it comes off nicely (as you can see on the right everything is straight) so i just decided to go with it and find myself way to put it back later on, however at the end the entire "going off nicely" thing was a bait and I couldnt remove it gently or put it back on.
