I7-8700 compatible with ddr3?

No. You need DDR4 for Coffee Lake CPUs.

 

Skylake and Kaby Lake can take DDR3, but motherboards that support DDR3 are more rare than those that don't.

you can. Get a high quality DDR3 LGA1151 motherboard, bring it to China, do the BIOS mod there, and there you go. Even the memory controller works.

Nope. You wouldn't want to use DDR3 with it anyways since slow RAM can have a bit of an impact on performance.
