Jeannie: Their customer service agents are non-English speakers, idiots, bots, or a combination of two or more of these based on many of the moronic responses I got from them.

Not necessarily. I've dealt with some large companies whose CS agents showed signes of intelligence. However, i was referring to both Amazon's live customer "service" agents and the ones on chat and email. They all are morons or poorly programmed bots!

I have too, but years ago. My old phone provider had a egyptian call center and they were literally better than anything available from anyone else at the time... Bell has a stupid automated robot who has gotten better, but is still too stupid.

It got shipped by Puro but was luckily delivered minutes before they left... After re-reading the conversation it feels like a crapshoot in bot vs person... They were smart enough to know that the depot wouldn't accept it due to shipping choices but wasn't smart enough to figure out they didn't go to far far away via their AWZL...

Full refund on Steam keys.

 

I bought a game whose MP servers were shut down a few days later. Keys were unused though.

 

But have had a few bad experiences wit their CS not reading my e-mails correctly.

This would be a prime example of BAD customer service, why should paying customers be treated worse than those who pay more for extra discounts? you are just trying to make an echo chamber for your thoughts here and dismissing other opinions

Although they've removed my Kindle adds for free, I've had a pretty weird experience with their support recently.

 

I contacted them because I was unable to start my Free Twitch Prime Trial. The guy managed to help me with it after charging my card 1$ (for verification purposes?), but a few minutes later I noticed that my Amazon Prime free trial had been cancelled.  

 

When I wrote to the CS about that problem, the guy just said that my US Amazon Prime had been cancelled in order for my Twitch Prime (international?) Trial to be started (I still had around 20 days of Amazon Prime left). I was kinda confused about the fact that I wasn't even told that my Amazon Prime would be cancelled (what would have happened if I had actually paid for it?).

why? Why should I have bad customer service when I'm still a paying customer? the idea that if you're not a extra paying member you don't get decent CS is ridiculous! Changing your title to prime members doesn't change that you are just putting up an echo chamber and dismissing bad experiences by ASSUMING they aren't a prime member which

And how the heck did you manage to get connected to Bezos' staff (you don't really think it was "Bozo" who was responding?). I never was able to get the agent to transfer me to a supervisor when I asked for one. I would be told the supervisor was unavailable or I would be put on hold (more like ignore), then get disconnected.

Whenever I order food through Amazon Prime Now Restaurants (they really need a better name for that), and they forget an item or its very late, I'll call and they will refund the missing item, or the whole order, and even give me a $10 credit for the trouble.

Having had to return many, many items to Amazon (usually because of third party sellers using FBA, in fact I'm surprised I haven't been banned yet), I have to say I have never had a problem with Amazon customer services, in fact, I'd say that they're pretty much at the top of every company I have ever dealt with. 

 

I bought some bluetooth headphones from them and after nearly 2 years the bluetooth wouldn't connect to my phone anymore, so after about 10 minutes on the live chat I had a returns label to ship the item back. I spent another 30 minutes wrapping the headphones and taking them to a drop off point near me and within an hour of that I had the refund back into my Amazon gift card balance! In fact, with pretty much all of the returns I've made, I get the refund as soon as I drop the package off or it's collected by a courier instead of having to wait the usual 3-5 days for it to be delivered back to them which I think is brilliant, although I very much doubt people are not abusing it.

 

I bought a coffee grinder from Amazon and arrived with one of the two glass jars broken, I spoke via the live chat and explained that one of the glass jars had broken and they said I could just keep the item and have a full refund.

 

A couple years back I bought a Polar Express train set for my brother through Amazon Global so it was shipped from the US to the UK (which only took 3 days from ordering!), but after a couple weeks the sound stopped working. So I got in touch with Amazon (once again through the live chat) and they said that they were just going to send out another one with expedited delivery and no need to send the old one back (even though I think it cost about £150), and the replacement arrived in 2 days

 

So all in all, I buy pretty much everything from Amazon, even if I can get it cheaper elsewhere online because I know if there is a problem, I can have it sorted out straight away

I shop where I can get best prices. 95% of time Amazon is not that place. And not to mention that UK/Germany Amazon doesn't always offer shipping.

Unfortunately, In India Amazon is the cheapest by far for most common things, local stores are overpriced. Flipkart is a competitor but amazon ends up being cheaper 90% of the time. For computer hardware however you might want to hunt up used cards that cost as much as the real MSRP in US or pay 150% the original MSRP on amazon.in Newegg is cheaper almost US pricing but they charge for shipping and variety for cases and other hardware is still limited.

It was a miracle the package was still there in the morning when store employees opened up the store, although the package had been opened (I wound up sending both items in the package back for a refund because their pickers didn't know the difference between black and white on a fan for the second time in a row and the hole saw mandrel was defective). Unlike Newegg, who cheerfully agreed to not use DHL for my orders after DHL screwed up a couple deliveries and refused to respond to my inquiries when packages disappeared for a few days (I didn't even get an automated response), Amazon refused to never use their own carrier for my packages. That was the final straw for me.

 

I don't care that Amazon is quick to replace damaged products or quickly refund them. That in no way excuses repeated screw ups on Amazon's part when things should be done correctly in the first place.

Sometimes this happens with many different online retailers. I have received fake merchandise and I think amazon should do more thorough checks before letting sellers sell on their website. Same applies to couriers. In India I haven't had much shipping problems but I guess that is because the local courier companies already had very good services and turnaround times. India still relies a lot on mail so.

Yeah if you live far away from amazon it sucks to buy from there. Even living in a major city my deliveries take 5-6 days on most items but that is still much better than other sellers.

On Amazon Prime days I bought the Viewsonic XG2703GS (27“ WQHD 165HZ ips) from the warehousedeals for 380€. It was new! But the power cable was missing(would be like 4,50€) and the support offered me to refund 80€. So i got such a Monitor without Ips glow for 300€. I love Amazon

It's not always good but some experience are surprising.  Ordered a NZXT H700 and it arrived with the tempered glass panel shattered.  Not just a crack in the glass, but shards and dust particles inside the box.  Pretty much would rip your hands open if you tried to clean it up.  Also the tiny glass particles were in every crevice including the dust filters.

 

I called Amazon and explained the situation.  Also said that I could send it back, but not sure it's a good idea to ship broken glass that's likely to go everywhere.  Customer service took a few minutes, talked to a senior supervisor and came back and said to throw the entire thing in the trash and they would send out a new one.  

 

Of course, I've probably spent $50k if not more with Amazon over the years, but was nice to see.
