I was wondering how well a CX550M would work on a system that includes a xeon x3440 overclocked to 3.6 ghz on stock voltage and a 290x at stock. I will be trying to undervolt the 290x as far as it'll go, but some insight would be nice.

Ram: 32gb Crucial Ballistix 3600 C16 (3000 C14)

GPU: EVGA RTX 2060 Super 

Case: Phanteks P400A Mesh

PSU: Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 650w

SSD: Kingston NV1 2tb

Monitors: 27" Viotek GFT27DB (1440p 144hz), Some 24" BENQ 1080p IPS

I figure that I might be pushing the power budget, so that's why I'll be undervolting. I figure at stock settings with a healthy undervolt, the 290x won't use more than 250w then I figure that my cpu is using about 110w with rest of system consumption being 50-70w. So, I believe at worst on a stress test I'll be seeing numbers around the 400w mark, possibly 450w if my numbers are off. I tend to not trust psu calculators due to them inherently being used to sell higher end products. With these numbers, do you think the CX550M will be able to handle the sustained load?

You should be fine in gaming loads, just don't do any heavy rendering or stress tests. Not so much about power requirement, more about PSU quality

The CXM line seems to be pretty good according to the updated psu tier list and jonnyguru reviews, so I figure it can handle anything that it's rated for well enough. Do you think I'll be hitting power limits if I stress test?

Buy a Kill-A-Watt if you want to watch what your power draw from the wall is

The estimate I mentioned is simply the addition of max power draw estimates from the various manufacturers. You should be ok.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
