Backstory: I didn’t like the black and orange colors on my gigabyte Gtx 1070ti, so I took it apart and painted it white. I managed to damage the card and cause the fans to rev up to max and stay there until the pc goes to sleep if the card gets to 40c. To combat this I decided to go with the nzxt g12 and h55.

Now when I installed everything it worked...........

However, when I clicked restart on the sign in screen, it never posted. I’ve tried the suggestions on the “won’t boot/post” thread, but nothing works. I’ve ordered a beep sequence speaker, it’s arriving Wednesday.

Ive swapped out the graphics card to a gt9800. And still no visible post.

I’ve pulled out the ram and tried just one 8gb stick instead of 2.

ive cleared the CMOS.

Ive reseated the 24pin and 8pin on the Mobo.

I’ve tested the monitor with both HDMI and DP inputs and they work. (It’s a dell 2k 144hz gsync 27inch)

lve tried different PCIe lanes.

i cannot think of anything else to do except take my pc to a computer repair store and pay for a diagnostic.

Pic is from like a week ago.

Did you try waiting 15 or more minutes? If not try that. (P.s 80+ just means 80+ White.)

Then something is probably wrong with your GPU. Why dont you take out the HDMI from the GPU and plug it into the Motherboard's I/O HDMI Header. If that works, Then your GPU has some sort of problem.

Ok I figured something out. I plugged my gt 9800 into my old tv and HEY! I get a signal. I can boot up just fine and everything works.

When I swap in my 1070 ti all I get is a black screen....

both times however, I get a single short beep from my system speaker.

I totally forgot i got I did a driver update for my 1070 ti two days before the issues arised, and I had not done a restart since the install.

Ive tried using DDU and then swapping cards but so far I still have the same result. My old card works and my new one blackscreens, other than that everything is the same.

When you mentioned in your post that you damaged the card and that it could ramp up the fans, what exactly did you do? When you took apart the card to paint it,I'm guessing that you separated the PCB from the cooler correct?

Have you tried rolling back the drivers to the ones you had before? Perhaps the latest drivers have caused issues for your 1070ti?

Other than that,It seems the issue is isolated to your 1070ti and not your computer itself. One more thing I would recommend would be to use your 9800 for display but keep the 1070ti plugged into a PCI-E slot and going into device manager and taking a look under Display Adapters and seeing if Windows is reporting any error codes for your 1070ti there perhaps.
