Is it possible to make it happen?GTX 1060 with old monitor

Go to solution Solved by truemax,

Ok so i've done it!! It was resolution problem after all.

Maybe stupid but i'd want to make it work

Got Ryzen 1400 & gtx 1060, that runs ok on TV

And im wondering if i can connect my gpu somehow to and old monitor E176FPc  just temporarily

monitor is 1280 x 1024 so i set the gpu resolution to it, but monitor wont run. tv works fine.

That monitor has a VGA input.  The 1060 (looking at my spare Asus 1060 right now) has a DVI output.

There's no reason why a DVI -> VGA cable wouldn't work ... unless the GPU, cable or monitor is broken.

Monitor is connected to an adapter. Adapter is connected to the gpu but still do display. Clearly gpu doesnt like the monitor or other way around.Resolution is set to the monitors. Anyhing possible to do with the drivers?

You can but its not that simple.  1060 only supports DVI-D which only outputs digital single. So if you want to connect your 1060 to that monitor using VGA, you would have to use active Display Port to VGA adapter.

Main system: Ryzen 7 7800X3D / Asus ROG Strix B650E / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 32GB 6000Mhz / Powercolor RX 7900 XTX Red Devil/ EVGA 750W GQ / NZXT H5 Flow
