Is the pump faulty?

Hello, I have been looking at a friends faulty computer and I think the pump if faulty but I wanted a 2nd opinion before he returns his H100i. 

 

- The fans all seem to be spinning but the pump isn't registering anything on the bios or corsair link.

- I have tried plugging it into a different fan header. 

- The cpu temps seem to shoot up to around 100 degrees centigrade and will blue screen. (i7 8700K)

- The cpu isnt overclocked. We already tried resetting the bios.

I would RMA the cooler as soon as possible.
