So I recently purchased a Dell XPS 13 inch 9370(2018) model. As you can tell from the title one of the caveats it came with it was there no sound coming out of my laptop. I've tried updating/reinstalling drivers no luck. I've done diagnostics test on the boot there was no beeping sound which could indicate a faulty hardware? I tried plugging in pair of headphones into my head jack the sound works that way and same with external speakers. I was gonna try to do a fresh windows install via reset pc feature but thats the last resort. I'm trying to get help from Dell support team if I can get a hold of one. So can anyone help me with this issue? Should I just return the laptop and take it as a faulty device?

In my experience Dell support has been pretty good so I’d try and get ahold of them like you said you’d try.

In your audio output settings does it show output options? This problem could also happen if the laptop thinks theirs something plugged into the 3.5mm jack.

No it doesn't show output options.

edit: just spoken to Dell support team and it was in fact a faulty hardware. So I'm returning it and getting it fix by them.
