Im now using GTX1070, which im going to replace with 1080TI (or do i wait for the new stuff?)

So drop G-Sync. And get the cheapest one? What about the GPU?

If you need it now I would go with the 6GB 1060 and save the $$ for the new stuff in 5-6 months otherwise wait

New stuff gets announced on the 20th most likely, leaks are coming out all over the place, most likely either get a used 980ti, 1080/ti, or soon to be 2080 which may retail for $800 USD though for their mid ranged die...

really need AMD back in the GPU game like they're doing with Ryzen on CPUs.

I hope AMD comes back. Their GPU's just work extremely well for everything. might not be bleeding edge but close enough
