Hey everyone,

I am looking to upgrade my CPU from a i5-6600K to either a i7-8700K or a Ryzen 2700X. But I do not know for sure which one would be best for my use. I mostly will be gaming and the occasional streaming. The games that I mostly play are Rainbow six siege, Battlefield, and Farcry 5. I was thinking that the i7 would be the best choice for me seeing how I rarely use applications like Premier or Photoshop, but when I do it is for editing videos. But I can't really decide what to get. I am looking for some advice on what to get.

P.S. I should also mention that I typically play on either 4k or 1440p, and my graphics card is a GTX 1080.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Because you'll be playing games more than streaming get the 8700K.

the 8700k isn't exactly leaps and bounds ahead of the 7700k, so if you weren't concerned with core count, it's probably worth saving some money.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

id get a 8600k as it has better value then a 8700k
