FrostRipper - A new project

stealth80

Hi,

So I recently sold my was current PC, Temporal Snow - mainly due to me and my wife splitting and needing some fast cash for obvious reasons and also because I don't game as much as I used to. That said, I still have a passion for building these things, so I'm currently thinking about another project, let me know what you think! I thinking right now that the 1900X and 1080ti will be place holders for the 2920X and the 2080ti!

RIP Temporal Snow, 2017-2018

I approve of the case though. It shouldnt force you to mod the case like the 303 did

I have that board with a 1950X.  Reliable so far.

The EK second gen Monoblock with VRM cooling works great too if you want to cool VRMs.

I didn't know they did a mono for it that is good to know! Seems the 2920x will be aroubd £500 so not too terrible

You have to take the whole board apart and ditch the VRM cooling fan to use it, but it's available.

Good luck!

Oh yeah.  If you are primarily gaming then don't go x399.  These things are content creator/heavy multitasking systems, not gaming.

They can game, but it's a waste of money to go that way.

The new 9900K will do a better job (probably) gaming while still offering 16 threads for any multitasking you need to do and the watercooling parts will be more available.
