Video Request - Bootable Media Test Stick (ideas?)

There are a lot of videos on buying used hardware. 

I'm wondering if its possible to build a bootable thumb drive that will allow you to test an older machine? 

So the idea is

1. Plug in and boot from the USB
2. Run some utilities that can give you an idea of the of the current functionality and condition of
   1. MoBo
   2. CPU
   3. GPU
   4. Anything else

How would you go about doing this and what utilities would you include. (Would this make a lame video)
